Now that Sam has turned 3.5 this month I am really realizing how much he is growing up, both physically and mentally. And, I know I need to write this down or eventually it will fade from my memory.
Physically he is changing from that cute little baby boy too a very handsome little guy. He is devastatingly beautiful if I must say so. There really isn't a time we are out and someone doesn't comment on how beautiful he is. Those eyes alone stop traffic...... He has these little/big boy legs with hair and knees that are already "stained" like boys have. He has started to get a couple of freckles on his arms and legs. And he is very, very strong! We have known that since he was 1 day old, as he was already holding his own head up with no support. And he started walking at 9mo. He is the type of child that does not like to sit and watch TV, he will check it out if it is on, but he must be doing something physical at the same time. He hasn't taken a nap since he was a little over 2, he is afraid he will miss something I guess. He can thrive on less sleep than I think he should have! He will not sleep past 7:30am no matter what time he has fallen asleep! He is living up to his name Super Sam I guess. He is too tall for most 4T pants, but then they are too big everywhere else. Although he weighs almost 40lbs, but the kid is solid. He is wearing a 10.5 -11 sized shoe. And he is learning and growing up so much. He can count to 25, knows his alphabet (not just singing the song), knows all the colors, all shapes, can count to 5 in Spanish and know 5 colors in Spanish. Can spell his name, knows his full address, knows my full name (which is a mouth full!) and Daddy's. Knows many dinosaurs by name and what they eat, along with the difference between crocs and alligators. He is a wild animal lover, I am amazed at how much he can retain when it comes to facts about the wild animals. He knows what extinct means... The words he is using also amaze me and I need to remember to write them down! He will use them correctly, like annoyed, ignore, balance, enemies, frustrated, nocturnal, carnivore, patience, compromise, excavate, fragile, correct... He most of the time has wonderful manners, but is still a bit impatient. When he has one of his "breakdowns", he starts bouncing around on his tip toes and whines like no ones business, oh and flopping his arms as well! Still wants me to hold him when he is tired or cranky. He is very loving, always kissing us out of the blue, telling us he loves us, telling his animals he loves them and sings little songs about how he loves different people in his life. Worries about the birds and other animals when it is raining. Loves for us to tell him stories about himself when he was a baby. Loves to be at home. All in all, we think he is a wonderful little person and we are so proud of him. Although he does have his days when he is as I call him " A grumpy old man!" He has an old soul....
