Chrtistmas' Past

2007 - At his preschool Christmas Party
2006 - Sam 2.5 years old

2005 - 18 months

2004 - 6 months

This Christmas is going to be so much fun! Sam is so excited and understands the Christmas spirit better now that he is 3. I have been trying to get him to watch all those old Christmas shows, like Rudolph, Frosty, etc., but there always is something in there that frightens him and so he will turn it off, and if I try to put it on again another day he will not watch it. I even recorded The Polar Express and he will only watch like the very end of it, he is so funny. So we have a few books that he will let us read to him! We are going to Williams to spend the night this Saturday and ride The Polar Express! He is so excited about that! We have been marking the calendar each day until we go. He can hardly stand it anymore. Christmas is such a magical time for kids, I hope we can make it so for him. We have been listening to Christmas music only when we are in the car and he will sing right along, sometimes he tells me though to turn it off!! We drove around and looked at lights the other night. He says "Oh mommy they are so beautiful." We took him to see Santa and he was not interested in him at all. Although it may have been an act. He wouldn't look at him or speak to him, just sat there on his lap with a strange little look on his face! We are going to make magic food (oatmeal mixed with glitter and sprinkles in case you didn't know) for Santa's reindeer and cookies to put out on Christmas Eve. I also bought some of that flaky glittery snow stuff you can sprinkle around and am going to take one of Jeff's boots and dip it in it and place the footprints around our fireplace area so he will think they are Santa's! I am so excited , it is going to be so much fun!

Pizza Day At Preschool

Presenting Bronco Billy a Thank You Plaque
Miss Hilary getting the class situated Last Friday Sam's school took a field trip the Bronco Billy's Pizza. The owner showed them around the kitchen. Showed them how the big dishwasher works, the big dough mixer, the huge pizza owne, etc. Then he tossed pizzas and did "tricks" with the dough. The kids got to play with the dough. Then they got to top their pizza. They ate, and then they practiced singing their Christmas songs that they will be singing for all of us this Friday at their Christmas party. It was so cute, and they really had a blast!

Growing Up, Yep He Sure Is....

Now that Sam has turned 3.5 this month I am really realizing how much he is growing up, both physically and mentally. And, I know I need to write this down or eventually it will fade from my memory.
Physically he is changing from that cute little baby boy too a very handsome little guy. He is devastatingly beautiful if I must say so. There really isn't a time we are out and someone doesn't comment on how beautiful he is. Those eyes alone stop traffic...... He has these little/big boy legs with hair and knees that are already "stained" like boys have. He has started to get a couple of freckles on his arms and legs. And he is very, very strong! We have known that since he was 1 day old, as he was already holding his own head up with no support. And he started walking at 9mo. He is the type of child that does not like to sit and watch TV, he will check it out if it is on, but he must be doing something physical at the same time. He hasn't taken a nap since he was a little over 2, he is afraid he will miss something I guess. He can thrive on less sleep than I think he should have! He will not sleep past 7:30am no matter what time he has fallen asleep! He is living up to his name Super Sam I guess. He is too tall for most 4T pants, but then they are too big everywhere else. Although he weighs almost 40lbs, but the kid is solid. He is wearing a 10.5 -11 sized shoe. And he is learning and growing up so much. He can count to 25, knows his alphabet (not just singing the song), knows all the colors, all shapes, can count to 5 in Spanish and know 5 colors in Spanish. Can spell his name, knows his full address, knows my full name (which is a mouth full!) and Daddy's. Knows many dinosaurs by name and what they eat, along with the difference between crocs and alligators. He is a wild animal lover, I am amazed at how much he can retain when it comes to facts about the wild animals. He knows what extinct means... The words he is using also amaze me and I need to remember to write them down! He will use them correctly, like annoyed, ignore, balance, enemies, frustrated, nocturnal, carnivore, patience, compromise, excavate, fragile, correct... He most of the time has wonderful manners, but is still a bit impatient. When he has one of his "breakdowns", he starts bouncing around on his tip toes and whines like no ones business, oh and flopping his arms as well! Still wants me to hold him when he is tired or cranky. He is very loving, always kissing us out of the blue, telling us he loves us, telling his animals he loves them and sings little songs about how he loves different people in his life. Worries about the birds and other animals when it is raining. Loves for us to tell him stories about himself when he was a baby. Loves to be at home. All in all, we think he is a wonderful little person and we are so proud of him. Although he does have his days when he is as I call him " A grumpy old man!" He has an old soul....

My baby started preschool!

This week our baby started preschool! I just can't believe how grown up he is becoming. I have thought about preschool for a long time for him and whether to do it, where, when..... And I am so glad we did it! Sam absolutely LOVES it! He goes 3 days a week from 10-1. They are learning so much already. Spanish, letters, numbers, music, calendar, sports, crafts, reading assignments, yes he has cute little homework once a week! And they all have lunch together. They are collecting food for the homeless, and next week they are going to a pizza parlor to learn how to make dough! The first day he cried because he didn't want to leave! He loves it, and he loves Miss Hilary! I am so excited that he is excited and just the socializing aspect of it for him is awesome!!! Miss Hilary told me today he is phenomenal, I am so proud of my sweet boy!

Rain

Last week when it rained I was upstairs changing the sheets and I thought Sam was just in his playroom downstairs. Well, it was too quiet, and I went down and he had put his rain boots on and his jacket and was out back in the puddles having a blast. I was shocked, and he just giggled!

Kisses!

Sam has just been so, so sweet lately. Every chance he gets he is kissing me! He will grab my face and kiss it all over, and then pick up my arm and kiss my hand and arm, and well any part that has skin showing. He will come running over to me out of the blue with his hands wide open and hug me and say "Mommy I love you!" The other morning, very early about 5am ,he starts making the smooching noise until I leaned over and gave him a kiss. It is so sweet, it melts my heart. I hope it continues FOREVER!!
