Our Camp

Saturday was the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is such a great event to be a part of. It really makes you see the bigger picture in life. Often, many people get so caught up in doing things for just themselves not realizing that there is a bigger picture. Well this will put it all in perspective. The walk was for 12 hours straight. You had to have someone from your team walking at all times. There were very elderly, infants, toddlers, kids Moms, Dads everyone...... You just felt such a connection to everyone there, we were all there for the same reason. At 10pm they turned out all the lights on the field and we walked for 10 minutes in silence looking at each luminary that was lit with someones name that has been taken or is still fighting this awful killer. I saw way too many luminaries made by children that had lost a parent, heartbreaking. It was also a lot of fun. A lot of events to participate in while you weren't walking. Guys dressed as women, lots of food, bouncy things to jump on, contests, even an Elvis Impersonator. We have a very, very dear friend, actually Jeff's God Father who is battling this and he is who I had in my mind the whole evening. Please keep him in your prayers. Aslo thank you to everyone who sponsored me!!!
